Published: 12/02/2011

Thursday, December 1st, 2011, 2:00-3:00 PM (EDT)/ 11:00AM -12:00PM (PDT) This was an engaging presentation and discussion with Jay Fountain, an elected council member of the board of representatives for the City of Stamford, CT. Jay has a distinguished career serving the public including as a finance director, city auditor, assistant city manager and assistant director of research for the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). During his long tenure with GASB, Jay provided advice and technical assistance across the country in implementing performance measurement and reporting based on GASB’s guidelines. These guidelines emphasize providing accountability for government’s performance to its citizens. Jay was also active in developing legislating for results action briefs for the National League of Cities.

This webinar offered an opportunity for government officials and others to learn more about the linkage between jurisdiction’s performance measurement systems and community priorities or indicators. Critical to a successful integration is the engagement of the public and the leadership and support of public officials.
